How will paperless entry improve my efficiency?
First, its just plain faster to click near a bubble than it is to fill the bubble outline with a #2
pencil. Erasures are even faster on the form image compared to paper forms since all you do
is click to cleared the bubble. On the paper forms, you must be careful not to erase adjacent
bubbles but make sure you erase all of the incorrect bubble.
The real advantage of paperless entry comes from the ability to copy a previous visit's note or
a previous exam's finding. After copying, your form image will contain the marked bubbles for
the previous session's treatments or exam findings. You don't have to look elsewhere for the
information associated with the last visit or exam. Now, you only need to click the changes. No
more confusing "Same As" bubbles. You can even convert an initial exam to a re-evaluation.
Array entries are faster and less complicated because the OnScreen displays guide boxes
around the row and column you are marking. As a warning, the guide boxes change color
when you move the mouse pointer outside the current row/column.
You no longer have to mark the subjective section of the patient's first Daily Note form since
the OnScreen program will optionally fill that section from the new patient's Health
Questionnaire.
No need to mark date, Doctor Id, patient Id, and case number bubbles since the OnScreen
automatically marks them when you create a new form image. You can change the attending
or examining doctor from a pull down list on the image without erasing any bubbles. You can
also change the date without erasing bubbles. The case number is displayed on the front side
of the first sheet of all form images. The Patient's name, Id number, and form date appear in
title bar on every page of form.
The entry of the larger arrays for the subjective section have been improved and simplified
with the addition of region buttons on the form image. After clicking one of the region
buttons, the OnScreen program will display a body diagram identifying all complaint locations.
After selecting a location, a clear and well organized window will appear for marking the
complaint's symptoms, intensity, characteristics, frequency, and status. No more trying to find
the location's finding bubble (row/column) in an array that stretches across the entire page. A
concise summary of the subjective section by location will appear next to the body diagram.
After selecting all locations that comprise the patient's complaint, close the body diagram. The
subjective array on the form image will be marked for each location you have selected on the
body diagram.
When you click on an "Other" bubble in the OnScreen, your Predefine text associated with
that bubble will be displayed in a pull down list. When you move the mouse over an "Other"
bubble, the text previously entered will be displayed.
There is no need to go to the scanner to scan forms since you can run the OnScreen
simultaneously on all workstations in your office.
You can use a PC tablet or a touch screen display with the OnScreen. Just touch the bubble
with the stylus and the bubble will be marked or erased.
